"When I let go of what I am , I become what I might be"
- Lao Tzu
Welcome to Turiya Yoga. This quote from Lao Tzu is one of my favourites and inspires my teaching. It is a reminder, as is the yoga practice, to let go of limitations, misperceptions and rigid mindsets (who we think we are) so that we may become all that we are becoming...all that we might be.
The possibilities are endless!
Join me on the journey, I would love to share it with you.
I have loved movement and the body since...well...always. I have explored both through dance, gymnastics, Physiotherapy and finally yoga.
A beautiful friend guided me to my first yoga class in early 2000 when I was in desperate need of some time, space and balance after being consumed by the intensity of being a first time mum (I now have two amazing and wonderful children). I immediately fell in love with the practice. I enjoyed the physicality of it but, really, it was the peace, stillness and sense of being deeply nurtured that really drew me. The rest, as they say, is history. I continued to practice and eventually undertook my first teacher training. I have been teaching ever since, learning, growing, studying, connecting, being, exploring and becoming...
I have been blessed to study with many amazing teachers both here in Australia and Internationally. I am incredibly grateful and honour them for their teachings and guidance.
